Dr. Shirley Yang received her Bachelor’s degree in International Politics from Renmin University of China, a Master of Arts in Social Policy from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a PhD in Political Science from The Hong Kong Baptist University.
Before joining her current position, she served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and later Research Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where she taught a wide range of courses on welfare regimes, development, and governance in both Chinese and international contexts. Her research interests lie at the intersection of migration, labour relations, social welfare, civil society, and governance, with an emphasis on comparative and interdisciplinary approaches.
